Great Lady Attributes

I read many years ago a quote by Emily Post that I have written in the front of one of my Bibles:

The attributes of a great lady may still be found in the four S's:

Sincerity,
Simplicity,
Sympathy,
Serenity.

I believe that if grandmas and mamas were still teaching these today then the world just might be a little bit different.

I am not perfect and I did try to teach these to a class of Sunday School girls. As many of them have grown and become mamas themselves I do so hope they have remembered some of the lessons.

God is so good to us. We all deserve a place in hell burning forever but because Jesus paid the price for our sin(s) we can enjoy heaven forever if we will but trust him to forgive. Thank you Jesus for your full salvation.

(Written by Marlene Evans in 1979 during Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana after her preacher said something that caused her heart to respond in earnest pleas.)

Oh, dear Jesus, this is my prayer. I wish to be what you want me to be.

A Sign of Hope

Blog Beginnings

Hannah Elisabeth here. Everyone it seems is blogging these days so I thought that I might give it a whirl.

I am a wife to my hard working husband and Pastor, mother to a little miracle man and a double blessing, and care giver to my elderly mother. My family lives a simple life in a college town. I am a sinner who has been saved by grace (For by grace are ye saved through faith; and  Not of works lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8, 9)

I attend an old fashioned King James Bible believing and street preaching church. I believe hell is hot and sin is no joke. I believe Jesus Christ saves from sin those who are willing to repent and that heaven is forever.

I wish to be a blessing and an encouragement to others while sharing some of my experiences. May the Lord bless this journey as I honor him through these writings. Come along for the ride, wont you?

It is Well With My Soul.
